The swirling tartan and pipe music of Scottish highland competition dancing is returning to Benalla on Saturday, July 23, at the Presbyterian Church Hall in Church St.
It has been 15 years since the last such competition in Benalla and the return is welcome, as are visitors on the day.
Entry is free and the doors open at 12.30pm.
The classes, held at the Guide Hall on Thursdays at 4.30pm, are reintroducing local children to this energetic, historic and graceful dancing style.
The dances include the Highland Fling, the Sword Dance, the Seann Triubhas, Pas de Basque, Irish Lilt, Irish Jig, Sailors Hornpipe and the Flora MacDonald.
