Students from years Foundation to Year 12 will be participating in a Walk-a-thon around the Benalla Lake to raise funds for much-needed playground equipment for the Faithfull Campus on September 15.

Students will be seeking sponsorship from the community to assist them in raising funds for the playground equipment.

The Foundation to Year 4 students will walk about 2km while the years 5 to 12 students will walk the whole lake, which is about 4km.

‘‘Staff and students are looking forward to this year’s walk-a-thon,’’ principal Barbara O’Brien said.

‘‘This will be a fun event that all students can be involved in.

‘‘It will give them the opportunity to raise funds towards the purchasing of new playground equipment on the Faithfull St Campus and build on the money raised and donated from last year’s walk-a-thon.

‘‘Students will be consulted as to the type of equipment they would like and where they believe it would be best placed in the Faithfull St grounds.

‘‘We want our students to be fully involved in the fundraising activity from the raising of funds to the purchasing and installation of the equipment, which we hope to start building in 2017.’’

●Members of the community wanting to make a donation can phone Benalla P12 College on 57612777.
