The Rotary Club of Benalla has been successful in securing the role of coordinating the A Day in the Gardens Market on Sunday, November 6.
The A Day in the Gardens Market was established by the Benalla Family History Group in 2008 and is one of the most popular activities of the Benalla Festival.
The market provides an outlet for craftspeople, local producers, artisans and designers producing high-quality and unique products to showcase their wares on the second Sunday of the Benalla Festival program from 9am to 3pm.
‘‘On behalf of the Benalla Festival Advisory Committee, congratulations to the Rotary Club of Benalla who were successful in being given the role,’’ Committee chair Barbara Alexander said.
‘‘We recently put out a call for an energetic local group or organisation to host the market and the Rotary Club of Benalla will do a wonderful job.
‘‘This is an exciting opportunity for Rotary to continue and expand on the legacy created by other community groups who have previously coordinated the market.’’
Rotary Club of Benalla president Amanda Challis said: ‘‘The Rotary Club of Benalla is excited about taking up this new challenge and continuing the excellence of this popular event.
‘‘The coordination role of the market will also help us share the club’s community vision and values, while providing fundraising opportunities to assist our community and communities elsewhere in the world.’’
The Rotary Club of Benalla is also encouraging community groups to consider promoting their organisation at the market.
