Peranbin students learn the marimba

What a Great Day for Peranbin students.

As a precursor to their Student Writers Festival, Violet Town campus hosted a spectacularly successful day of creativity and learning.

All campus children gathered to enjoy the inspiration of a series of workshops in marimba, creative writing, poetry and magical activities.

Everyone had fun and learned lots.

Visiting storytelling expert Beth Crogan from Write Away with Me and brilliant musician, teacher and conductor Ian Chambers from Gippsland ran highly stimulating workshops, while the staff of the college ran hands-on explorations of poetry-making, page marbling and writing from the heart.

Lunchtime was a brilliant sausage sizzle to raise money for two of the college students who are going to Japan in October, so everybody went home well fed, in every sense of the word.
