Witnesses sought

Police are appealing for witness to a theft from a motel.

In the early hours of Saturday, September 24, a male wearing a white hoodie and dark pants was captured on CCTV stealing items from the rear of the Motel in Bridge St.

It is a reminder to lock up your property to reduce being an easy target.

Look for rego plate

Thieves stole a registration plate 1HP8CW from a vehicle parked in Glenfern Crt, Benalla, last Thursday night.

Traffic reports

●On September 24 Benalla Highway Patrol unit intercepted a motorcyclist on the Hume Fwy, Baddaginnie, travelling at 197km/h.

The rider was a P2 Probationary Licence holder and his motorcycle was impounded.

The 30-year-old rider will be charged on summons.

●Police responded to reports of monkey bikes being ridden around Commercial Rd, and Chiswell Crt, Benalla, on September 20.

Police attended, but were unable to find the offenders. Police request that the public keep making the reports if they see the bikes again.

Operation COPAR

Police will be conducting Operation COPAR to reduce the number of copper wire thefts in the Benalla area.

Police will be increasing patrols at locations that have been identified as hot spots.

School watch

The school holidays run until October 2 and all Benalla schools and kindergartens will be vacant.

Benalla Police and Benalla School Children are asking the public, especially those who live near the schools, to keep an eye out on the schools and help prevent damages and break-ins.
