Peranbin is proud of Isaac King.
Isaac is in Year 2 at Peranbin Primary College’s Violet Town Campus and he recently made a prize-winning speech, all in Japanese, about his dream of taking his whole family to Japan.
Isaac would like to experience that country’s culture and people with his parents and his three younger siblings.
The North East Japanese Language Teachers’ Network 14th Annual Japanese Speech Contest was held in Wangaratta on Sunday, September 11. Isaac won first place in the Year 2 individual section.
This is the second year running that a Peranbin student has won a first prize in this competition, to the delight of the college’s Japanese teacher Ayako Mizushima.
In October, Year 6 students from the college will travel to Japan to experience everything that Isaac spoke about in his speech.
Not Isaac, though. He will have to wait until he is a little bit older.
