Secure vehicle keys

Police are appealing for community members to secure their unused car keys after a BMW was stolen from a business.

Between September 26 and 27 thieves gained access to a local business on Bridge St and ransacked the premises.

While the thieves were inside they located a set of car keys belonging to a BMW and stole the car.

It was recovered hours later on Hume Fwy near Euroa with damage to the front.

Door damaged

Between September 30 and October 1 the front door of the Tandoori Hut Restaurant on Bridge St was damaged.

There was no access gained nor items stolen.

Traffic

●Two drivers were detected at the weekend with traces of illicit drugs in their system while driving.

A traffic blitz on Bridge St in Benalla found one driver who exceeded the legal blood-alcohol limit.

●Benalla Highway Police rescued a driver who ventured into floodwater on Samaria Rd at the weekend.

Police want to remind drivers that driving through flood waters is extremely dangerous, and could endanger lives.

Help to reduce graffiti

Police are appealing for the community to assist with reducing graffiti.

The Benalla area has seen an increase in graffiti tags, especially at local schools and the botanic gardens.
