Pink Ladies: Goulburn Murray Credit Union's Doris Arendt, Branch Manager Jenni Cogger, Sophie Connor and Jaime-Lee Hill did their part for Pink Ribbon Day last week.

Benalla’s Goulburn Murray Credit Union’s all-women team takes breast cancer seriously.

Each year GMCU raises funds as a part of Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon Day but this year they decided to go one better.

With the office and staff decked out in pink last week the team sold cupcakes generously supplied by Shakes and Cakes Diner, alongside ribbons and pens.

Branch manager Jenni Cogger said the community had supported the fundraiser which holds a special place in the hearts of staff members.

‘‘We’ve sold lots and lots and people have just donated if they are watching their waistlines,’’ Ms Cogger said.

‘‘Each of us have been touched by breast cancer in some way.

‘‘I think it’s a cause people just want to get behind.’’
