Organisers of the Chesney Vale Open Garden on October 16 and 17 were overwhelmed by the public support with more than $10000 being raised for the mental health organisation, beyondblue.

More than 800 people visited the stunning garden overlooking the Winton Wetlands.

The money was raised through donations, raffles, entry fees, sale of food and drinks and a plant stall.

It was also one of the best weekends for the Mokoan Hub.

‘‘They were sending people to us and we were sending people to them,’’ organiser George Sappa said.

‘‘We ran out of food at two o’clock on Saturday afternoon, we didn’t know what to expect on day one, so we said, ‘on your way home, call in at The Hub, no doubt that they’ll have plenty of food there for you. So it was good’.

‘‘But we just wanted to thank everyone who contributed from people who donated, to people like the volunteers, everyone donated a lot of trinkets for the raffle as well. And of course the people.’’
