Benalla Health is encouraging the community to throw its support behind the Christmas Trees of Remembrance.
The trees have been hosted at the Benalla Library and by the Benalla Health Palliative Care and Community Health Services in the past few years.
These trees enable people to pay tribute to their loved ones and animals who have died, at a time when most communities are busy preparing for the festive season.
People who have hung cards on the trees in the past have said that they value the opportunity to acknowledge those they have lost during the festive season.
This year, the Christmas Trees of Remembrance will be on display in the Benalla Library and at the Ray Sweeney Community Care Centre from Thursday, December 1.
The trees and the messages will stay on display until after Christmas, along with information about services in Benalla that support people experiencing loss and grief, including the Palliative Care service.
●Anyone seeking assistance with loss and grief is encouraged to phone the Community Health Service on 57614500.
