Snell inspires dance pupils

Mel ‘O’ Drama dance camp this year was fortunate to have actor/dancer Mike Snell visit to support and nurture Benalla’s young performers.

Some of Mr Snell’s credits include: Wicked, Legally Blonde, We will rock you, Hairspray, Strictly Ballroom, Saturday Night Fever and many more.

Mike was also the winner of the TV series I Will Survive.

Teachers involved in the dance camp including Melinda Pentreath (principal), Mike Snell, Kane Pentreath, Rachel Mortlock and Elie Roe Daniel.

Dance camp ran for three days and two nights with a sleepover in our brand new studio.

There were 25 students in attendance with varying ages from four to 23 years.

Students travelled from Melbourne, Tasmania, Kyneton, Albury, Wangaratta and Echuca.

They were treated to the different genres of contemporary, ballet, jazz, acrobatics, musical theatre and highland dancing.

Some of the younger students visited on Tuesday morning for a three-hour dance experience with all the big girls and boys then learnt their own performance with a showcase for their parents.
