A Strathbogie man has died following a two-car collision near Euroa on Monday afternoon.
Police said a Nissan utility struck a Mercedes van on the Hume Hwy just after noon.
The Mercedes van rolled and the ute spun out.
The 60-year-old Portarlington man driving the Mercedes van was not injured.
Then 78-year-old Strathbogie man driving the ute was airlifted to hospital, but died a short time later.
The two men were the only occupants of their vehicles.
The man’s death took the state’s road toll to 35 for 2017, compared to 52 at the same time last year.
Firearms incident probed
Benalla Police are investigating a possible firearms incident that occurred at the Benalla Lake near the Saints Football Ground at 7.10pm on Tuesday, February 21.

Between February 21 and 22, a lawnmower was stolen from an unlocked shed from a house in Benalla St.

Between February 22 and 23, a grey Holden Colorado ute was stolen from a Cowan St address.
The ute has a yellow light on the top, and a black bulbar with registration plates 1HV8SL.
