Antique furniture, locally-created art and farm equipment are just some of the zany things you can expect to find at an upcoming Tatong community garage sale.
Tatong Community’s Great BIG Garage Sale is back for its second year after a successful event in 2016.
The event is being held on Sunday March 19 at the Tatong Tavern Grounds, and asks shoppers for a gold coin upon entry.
More than 20 stalls will be up and running this year, and event organiser Belinda Franks said the stalls are being booked up quickly.
‘‘Last year actually surprised us, it was very popular,’’ Ms Franks said.
‘‘We had about 200 people through in the day. There was about 20 separate garage sales from around the area all in the one spot.
‘‘That’s why it appeals to people, because it’s fun to go and check out garage sales and they’re all in one spot.’’
Ms Franks said anything that stallholders would normally sell at a garage sale could be sold at the BIG Garage Sale.
‘‘A small group of volunteers from throughout the Tatong area worked to launch the initiative last year, and came up with the idea of hosting a huge garage sale, and staging it in the grounds of the ever-popular Tatong Tavern,’’ she said.
‘‘Over 20 separate Garage Sales took place at the previous event in October last year, and this March it returns bigger and better again,’’ she said.
Last year, the garage sale attracted shoppers from as far away as Albury, Shepparton and Melbourne.
There will also be live music from local musicians and entertainment for the kids available.
