Items stolen from vehicles
Two separate vehicles in Benalla were the target of thieves overnight on Wednesday, April 5.
The first occurred in Samaria Rd where the offenders have cut padlocks to a tradesman’s vehicle and removed about $3000 worth of power tools and accessories.
These included 18-volt Hitachi power tools and accessories, a Rockwell compound saw and an Aldi socket set.
The second theft from motor vehicle that night occurred in Melrose Dve, where the offenders smashed the front window of the vehicle to access a handbag left on the seat.
Credit cards from this theft had been utilised in the Seymour area between 7.30am and 7.40am that day.
Police attended a grassfire along with three CFA units on the Mansfield Rd on Sunday, April 2.
The cause of the fire is believed to be from vehicle use within the property, however, investigations are ongoing.
Bed slept in
Offender/s took on the role of Goldilocks, when entering premises on Tarnook Rd, Goomalibee, between April 1 and 5.
Entry to the home was forced, however, it appears at this stage nothing has been stolen, but one of the bedrooms has been slept in.
Number plates nabbed
The front and rear number plates were removed from a Silver Commodore Sedan in Cook St between March 31 and April 1.
Tamper-proof number plate screws are available at the police station for those wishing to prevent becoming a victim of this offence.
●A 26-year-old local male and a 28-year-old Shepparton female will each be summonsed to court to face drink and drug driving charges.
These resulted from two separated intercepts by the Benalla Highway Patrol on Sunday, April 2.
●On the morning of April 9 a small truck travelling West on the Midland Hwy near Webb Rd left the road, flipped and collided with a tree. The sole occupant was ejected from the cabin, but received only minor injuries.
Wet roads and fatigue were factors in this collision.
●There was also a single car collision in Smythe St, Benalla, with a car exiting the roundabout from Bridge St losing traction in the wet.
The vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree. The driver received a minor injury. Alcohol and the wet road surface were factors in this collision.
